The Importance of Upgrades in World of Warcraft
Upgrades are new items that boost your stats. You can upgrade your armor, weapons and trinkets with these.
Upgrades to items use a system called "upgrade pity" to calculate probabilities. This system is designed to limit the odds of luck and offer a good safety net while upgrading.
Armor
The item upgrader lets players upgrade the level of their equipment for their armor, trinkets and weapons. The upgrade is applied to the gear when you visit an upgrader NPC with the appropriate currency. When you upgrade an item, it will upgrade the stats on that item.

Note: The item used to upgrade your gear is destroyed forever. There is no way to have multiple upgrades applied to a piece of equipment; trying to apply an upgrade with one that has already been applied will cause the previous upgrade to be overwritten.
Upgrade your gear is a great method to make the most of your gear and increase your damage, survival and overall power. For instance, if have new Benthic gear from War Within Mythic Dungeon, it will be level 385 by default. It can be upgraded to a higher level with [Prismatic Manapearls]. Upgrades for PvE gear are available across all accounts, however upgrades for PvP gear requires a specific currency, such as [Valorstones] or [Harbinger Crestsor [Harbinger Crests]. The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade any additional gear in an armor slot decreases following the first upgrade.
Weapons

Once a weapon is fully upgraded it will continue to receive upgrades for as long as the player has the correct upgrade materials and currency on to. You should be aware that weapons are only able to reach ilvl 25, and no higher. This means that players should only upgrade their weapons when they've accumulated the maximum amount of upgrades from regular and Whetblade items.
Trinkets
The Trinkets provide a variety of Boosts. They can be upgraded like other equipment, through direct interaction with the Item Upgrader.
