Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
Upgrades can increase the value of armor and weapons. However upgrading your magic and standard equipment isn't worth the investment as rare or unique equipment can quickly surpass it.
Upgrades can be added to an item up to six times. Each upgrade will add to the gauge of the item.
Glyphs

While you can improve your equipment and skills through these NPCs however, you'll need to spend a significant amount of money on the process. Each upgrade level costs a certain amount of crests and Valorstones which are usually the most expensive, with weapons costing the most. Additionally, you'll be required to undertake certain quests to obtain the required items. For instance, if you are looking to upgrade your armor, you'll require one of the three Power Dices dropped by monsters 21 and up in addition to an amount of Erons and Minerals.
Recycled Items

Items affixes can be used on all items up to level 80 with the exception of crafted ascended armour and crafted trinkets.
