Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment give a bonus on the item's stats. This bonus scales according to the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components make your armour and weapons better. You can locate them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment with them or by using the highest-quality salvage kits like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when they are removed from the item.
The main function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other functions. They can be stacked in order to boost the level or experience gained from upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can also be forged to give additional bonuses. A glyph that is crafted can boost the chance of upgrading its target, and boost upgrades increase the attack or defense capabilities of a weapon.
You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either case, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which affects how much more experience an item will gain when it upgrades with the component. Organic components, like, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier of the next rank of equipment or weapon, and then move to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that it is possible to receive. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon that is tier 10. The most popular weapon upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that have bonuses. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade increases the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item or set piece, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This can be crucial for certain types of weapons. Weapons can't be upgraded for a higher maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrades can be a great method to increase the value of some set and unique items, but it's important to remember that they're not necessarily better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If you're upgrading an item with a bonus the item can be rerolled one time and the guarantee will reset to zero. The same amount of power dies are used to reroll an item as it would be used to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrading can be done at the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require the required amount of Minerals and Erons and a power dice of each kind. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased with Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each completed level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once, and the reroll will use the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling

If the player has enough rerolling tokens, they can reroll any item that they've acquired during the game. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased from the store for small amounts of in-game currency, but they aren't refundable. The new item upgrade d will have the same benefits of the previous one however, its stats will be different also.
In addition to rerolling objects, players can also alter the identification of any item by interfacing with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, all the while maintaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters that own the equipment.
Players can also boost the level of an item equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and communicating with the upgrader NPC of the item. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, item type and the number of crests. Each upgrade will add 5percent more damage to weapons.
Upgrading an item will make it more powerful however, it can also decrease its quality. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others require upgrading to maximize their potential. For instance an individual player may wish to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can be.
The primary reason why people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to acquire a certain weapon or character that they can't otherwise obtain. Getting these items can be costly and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to cooperate. The only choices left are to spend real cash or grind a lot. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. However, this feature is absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was intended to to increase the value of rare items, but since equipment generally drops quickly and can only be upgraded one level up, you'll usually replace the item before it becomes old enough. It's also not worthwhile to upgrade items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
You will see a small window when you click the upgrade option on an item. It will show the template for the item, its crest, and the Valorstone cost to raise the item's level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to an upgraded item along with its current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be reduced by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
The item will get upgrades to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry, and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the item receives when leveled up can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Aside from equipment for practice, all items and armor get the same stats once leveled up. The market determines the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can command an incredibly higher price than a non-upp’d version. This is also true for other pieces of armor such as circlets or tiaras.
